Washington provides a "WA Workers Compensation Rate Notice" that contains the business's class codes and hourly rates for employer and employee withholding to employers after completion of the Business License Application.
Once the business opens an account, the business is assigned an "L&I account manager" to answer any question.
Basic premiums depend on the "risk classification" assigned to the business.
When businesses apply, underwriters will assign one, or more, risk classifications
New "WA Workers Compensation Rate Notices" are provided whenever premium rates or experience factor ratings are recalculated.
The rate notice tells you the rate per worker, per hour/unit for each risk classification. These are also known as "composite rates" because they are a combination of four separate components (the accident fund, medical aid fund, Stay at Work program and the supplemental pension funds)
To properly set-up WA WCI, Ludt Payroll needs to be provided with the "WA Workers Compensation Rate Notice."
